The Serverius datacenter
Since February 2011 we started with offering our services in the Serverius datacenter and network. At 15 February 2011 we started with migrating clients to the new data center. We don’t have a blog post about this because we’ve picked up the blog later; but this blog is about the experience with the Serverius data center and network.
Serverius is a new data center in Dronten (The Netherlands) and opened the doors in August 2010. Like every new data center it has to proof itself and so far is has shown that Serverius can be trusted. There are a few examples, starting with power outages in Dronten, the data center Serverius proofed itself with the ups and a diesel generator to power the data center without any power outage in the data center itself. An other example is the network, two different paths offer redundancy to the internet pops in Amsterdam. It is always possible that a path is interrupted because of an excavation, different paths keep the network online.
This is only a small impression of the data center but shows you how the data center looks like from the inside. A clean datacenter with a PUE of 1.27 keeps your service with us running.
Experience
Serverius is still expanding and upgrading the network. With Cogent as new transit we believe that Serverius can deliver us the quality we need to deliver you quality services. We’ve found the data center we need to show you that quality can be delivered for a low price. While Serverius helps us to grow by doing upgrades on the network and building extra rooms we can also offer you that experience.
Colocation
It is not listed (yet) on our website but we also offer colocation services starting with 1u up to full secured racks. You can place a server any time with 24/7 access to the datacenter, or you can send the servers/switches/rackable hardware and we can rack them for you. We offer unmanaged and managed colocation, just contact us for more information.
If you’re unable to go to the datacenter when a server is defunctioning or when new servers have to be racked we can do that for you. This can be included with the colocation service or for just a one time fee. A managed colocation service is ideal if you’re not from the Netherlands (like the USA) and want to offer services hosted in The Netherlands.
